Our letters are sold individually. Each size is determined by the height of the letter. The width will be determined by the font and what letter you've chosen. All uppercase letters are always the height ordered. When ordering lowercase letters, the height will be the size of the largest lowercase letter. For example: If you order "lee" in 4" the "l" will be 4" and the "ee" will be a smaller size, typically around 2" depending on the font. This also applies to symbols like "-". The hyphen will be an appropriate size to match the height of the other letters ordered. These letters can be mounted to the wall or leaned against a wall or another surface. These letters are not freestanding. If you would like for them to be freestanding, please reach out to us before you purchase, and we can discuss a few different options. We do not provide hardware to hang the letters. We recommend using Fun-Tak mounting putty to mount the letters to the wall. Take a pea-sized amount of the putty and place it on the back of the letters in at least four spots and press the letter firmly against the wall. Our letters are stained rather than painted to give them a more natural look. Please keep in mind that any imperfections in the wood may show through the stain. We do not paint over the natural texture of the wood. This also means that the colors are not pure white or pure black as some of the wood's natural color may show through the stain. Please pay close attention to the pictures as they accurately depict what to expect.
